    Terry Eaglestone Claire Eaglestone (Terry Eaglestone's daughter) asked me to pass on the following -

    Thank you all for your kind words. Please pass on our thanks for all they lovely cards my Mum has received. She's truly touched. Just to let you know, Dad's funeral will be held at Vinters Park, on Tuesday 24th April at 11.45 am. Best wishes, Claire.

Boat Hire

Club boats are available to potential and existing members of the club and are the responsibility of the hirer while in their possession. Boats must be rigged for the appropriate weather conditions and any defaults or defects found before, during or after the use of the club boat should be raised with the CDO (Chief Duty Officer).

Precedence of club boats will be given to training sessions or organised events as directed by the Sailing Committee.

Wayfarer 2 person dinghy with spinnaker £20 per day
Laser 2000 2 person dinghy with asymmetric spinnaker £20 per day
Laser & Laser Radial Popular single handed dinghy £10 per day
Topper Single handed junior dinghy £10 per day
RS Feva 2 person junior dinghy with asymmetric spinnaker £10 per day
RS Tera Single handed junior dinghy £10 per day
Optimist Single handed junior dinghy £10 per day

It's all dependent on the weather

Up to force 4 (Up to 16 knots)Any club boat can be hired
Force 5 (17-21 Knots)Due to the age of the Lasers, these boats cannot be hired
Force 6 and above (22knots and above)No club boat can be hired

Availability

Saturday afternoons, Sundays and Bank Holiday Mondays during the main season and Sundays while the Warm-up and Winter series are running. Wednesday evenings when the Wednesday Evening racing is taking place.

If you wish to hire a boat, see the Chief Duty Officer on the day and he/she will allocate the boat, explain the hire conditions and take the hire fee.

Declaration, the hirer agrees:

  • To fully secure rudder, dagger boards and mast before taking to water;
  • To pay 50% of the replacement costs for any damage to any part of the boat (excluding fair wear and tear);
  • To obtain the third parties' full insurance details along with a full incident report for damages to the boat;
  • To pay prior to hiring the boat and that this payment is per boat that you wish to hire;
  • To ensure that all crew wears sufficient clothing for the weather conditions and that buoyancy aids are worn;
  • To take full responsibility for the safety and well-being of all crew members whilst in charge of the boat;
  • To return to shore if the CDO or club officer advises that the weather conditions have become unsuitable;
